prevention

Sexual exploitation and trafficking prevention

Along with providing support to survivors one of our main aims is working to put an end to sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

We use an evidence based violence and abuse prevention programme in schools, with young people in care and with other members of the community to increase vulnerable people's safety.

How we achieve prevention

Primary Prevention

To achieve primary prevention we work to increase the knowledge and personal safety skills of all participants so that they can keep themselves, and each other, safe from exploitation and trafficking.

Secondary Prevention

During  and following our prevention workshops participants are enabled to disclose any abuse which may be occurring. This enables them to get the information they need to escape the abuse and it also allows for early intervention where necessary.

Tertiary Prevention

Research has shown that following the workshops benefactors will use the skills they have learned and that they will pass on the knowledge to others.

During all of our workshops we are also aiming to change the mindset of any potential future abuser.
